Should she feel fulfilled?

Looking out from the mountains, Hokulani found her eyes drawn to the coast. It was a place she had never dared visit and yet it felt familiar all the same. She had always been with the water as she grew, surrounded by oceans she was never meant to enter, but she had made it here, hadn't she?

It was impossible not to crave more.

There was something here she could use, old stories she could share and something to be established. She wouldn't be able to do it alone, and yet the idea of living as an equal didn't feel quite right. While she had met plenty of men in her time since leaving home, none of them quite fit her needs. It was easy enough to find someone willing to give you children, but finding someone who would stay and listen was a whole different ballpark. Pushing out a breath, she decided that part could come later.

For now, her priority would be an island.
