@Nanuk if you have time?!

She had left the babes in the care of their father, for now... She followed the wavering scent trail of her Beta. The many waters muddled and mixed things, but she was adept at her born trade of tracking. The alpha had seen the woman in passing, but her cubs made her desire to socialize nonexistent. No war had been so exhausting as this–motherhood.

Tonravik continued her hunt for the woman, wishing to hunt for something more than rabbit this day and to further bond with the woman she favored. They were like-minded beasts, and Tonravik was glad to have a kindred spirit such as hers. Now that she was able to have free time, she took it gladly.

Her search did not end. Sometimes it (the trail) grew strong, sometimes it grew weak. But she kept to the task.

Eeeeee!!! <3 Thank you for the surprise thread!

Winds shifted as the the large female made her way up to a higher point in the Spire's range. Slowly, steadily, she worked on regaining her 'mountain feet'. As she made her ascent, snow became more and more common as was its melting runoff. Occasionally, she would walk through these small streams though there was no real reasoning behind it other than that she enjoyed the cooler temperatures. Soon, soon Winter would be upon them and she would be in her element, as would a good portion of the pack.

For a moment, she paused, sniffing at the wind. There was something there, tugging at her thoughts; the scent of her Alpha female. Whether it was just because Tonravik had been up here before or was currently nearby, the bear was unsure for the moment and hung around for a moment, waiting to find out. A bark let her presence be known, in the instance that the dark leader was, in fact, nearby.

Tonravik heard the bark and paused, ears flicking receptively as her dark eyes shifted. Tonravik herself remained quiet, prowling forwards slowly, avoiding debris and scree alike to maneuver her way as stealthily as possible toward her Beta. Her tail shifted behind her, waving... Before, when she was close enough, she threw herself headlong into a sprint. In good spirits to be free from the tethers of her cubs for the time being, Tonravik embraced it. She had to be as gentle as possible around them lest she accidentally harm one, but with Nanuk, there was no gentleness required.

Her tail waved behind her again as she approached, and she let out a booming WHUFF that revealed her intent, which was entirely playful (but roughly so). She moved to (attempt to) pounce the (hopefully unsuspecting) beta, teeth bared in fiendish delight as she let out a roaring snarl. Such sounds were never emitted when she truly intended to attack someone; the alpha female was what most everyone would call "silent, but deadly".

Gonna keep these short! At work and I want to get this thread as done as possible before you leave xD

Silence. It meant nothing. The wolves of the north were at home on peaks such as these and could navigate them with ease. Such was the silence that when the echoing sound ricocheted brought the mountains, Nanuk whipped around to face the suddenly charging Tonravik. Immediately, her stance widened, shifting her center of gravity; it was the only thing she had time to do before their titanic bodies collided with sounds of play and harmless displays of teeth.

For once, Kanik slipped from her mind as she met her friend and leader with like attitude, not fully surprised to see her out and about now that the cubs had been introduced to the pack.

As their bodies collided with one another, Tonravik sought to grab at anything she could. Gentle was not the word for it, but her gnashing teeth never did close tight enough to draw blood or break skin. She only wanted to find something to hold, something to give her the upper-hand, as her equally sought to gather her bearing and collect herself. Tonravik's tail gave a mighty wave as she sought only to cling to Nanuk and bear her weight upon her, so as to make up for lost time in rubbing her scent forcefully upon her.

The alpha female was in far better sorts now than she had been before entering the den and birthing her brood. Free again to run and romp as she would (in a way), she did just that.

Her fur pulled under the "gentle" grasp of teeth, legs stiffening to hold up the weight of the bearish female Alpha. This was not something difficult for the Beta, her weight similar to Tonravik's own, as was her temper and mannerisms, at least when she was in the dark female's presence. Her own jaws worried playfully at her companion's shoulder, gnawing and grunting before she suddenly dropped her weight to the ground to take the blue-blooded Inuit down with her. Dust would coat their fur now, Nanuk having no problem with rolling around and wrestling in this moment.

Tonravik let her legs give with few, but by now, Nanuk had become one of those few. As the other rolled, Tonravik volleyed her weight with the inertia Nanuk had given her in falling first. Nanuk was that external force, and the alpha female thrust her shoulders to gain the upper hand against the ground so she could attempt to straddle the subordinate and simply lay atop her. It had been a while, and it was one of the few times Tonravik enabled someone so close without reacting violently (i.e. eating of the face).

Their rolling and wrestling stilled, Tonravik on top and her Beta the cushion against the ground. As Tonravik weighed down on her, the paler of the two wolves stretched and settled, not minding the contact for once. Similar to Tonavik, Nanuk did not enjoy touching others but there were some that she could tolerate, at the very least. Only for so long though. Somehow, she wriggled free and sprawled on her side next to her, tail thumping the ground once or twice. Her presence was welcome now, especially after going so long with the dark alpha being cooped up in her den.

Stretching, the beast lay there for another moment before shifting her head and pointed her muzzle towards the crest of the mountain. 'Shall we continue on?' It was a silent question, but Tonravik was the master of such things so surely, she would have no issues comprehending.

Tonravik enabled the other to wriggle free, crouching so her weight did not completely make the process impossible for the other. She sniffed near her paw for a moment, then licked absently at it before seeing Nanuk move. Indeed understanding what the other meant, Tonravik glanced toward the great stretch of land ahead.

Tail waving loosely behind her, Tonravik accepted before stepping forward. She wondered what sort of view this portion of the territory offered–she had yet to see them all.

Last post from me! Want a new one?

As Tonravik rose, so too did Nanuk with the intent to fall into step beside her. The female was back up and in the game again; the polar bear readily followed her chosen path as they ascended a point in the Spire together. Their interaction had been enough to catch them up as really nothing had happened in the months that the dark leader had been den-bound, plus Iqniq had likely filled her in on any small details that were missing. So it was that a comfortable silence continued between them, the two wolves no needing to talk about every little thing. Instead, her sharp gaze focused on the world around them and the lands that were revealed the higher they went.
