Gavriil chose in his time as of recently to focus on obtaining trades and not on his heartbreak. The teddy bear chose to go for caretaker first and then pursue the warden on the side, as the opportunity arose. To pursue caretaker he would need to have access to the pups that were just born but that wouldn't happen for a few more weeks according to Ragnar's agenda.
The sun was rising slowing upon the horizon. Walking amoung the trees the teddy bear continued to think about what plans he would have with the pups. He thought of many games they could play that would practice various skills. As soon as he could have access to the youngsters he would hopefully relive Thistle and Ragnar of their duties for a few hours. The male couldn't wait to take them hunting and raise them as if they were his nieces and nephews. The male continued to trot upon the damp ground with a smile on his kind looking face.

Nerian watched the smiling hefty male meander across the territory, her face held regard for the male she knew very little about, Gavriil was the name he had thrown at her before they had returned to the alpha after driving the Bear off.
She didn't know whether to call out to him or let him pass by, he seemed to be thinking about something so he didn't want to interrupt, but she also needed a distraction from Ragnar.
In the end she decided to stand still, watch him carefully and wait to see if he was willing to interact with her she wouldn't hold it against him if he just continued on.

The cinnamon male was smiling contently when a female packmate wanders by his gaze. It was Nerian, the wolf who helped him drive off the bear at the end of the fight before returning to Pump. Continuing his smile he trotted over to the she wolf as she stood still watching him.
"Hey Nerian, how are you?" Gavriil injured in his soft friendly voice. Sitting down he rested his massive body a few feet away from the female.

Nerian watched the brute change course and draw close to her, this earned him a friendly smile before her visage faded to a vaguely friendly expression. She wasn't one for sharing her emotions through her body language, she had worked for years on the art of concealing it actually.
She thought over his question, she could answer politely and then cast off conversation, but she wanted some repartee after being rejected by another, so she offered up more information then she would normally, not one for much words regularly she thought them over in her head before speaking aloud.
I am exhausted actually, I have been trying to build a den out of flat rocks and I am far to ... ineffective at getting the last rock to fall into place
Over in the denning area where she had been told to set up a den to sleep she had piled rocks below an upright slab of stone. She had intended on tipping the slab down upon her piled rocks making a crude tee-pee like structure. However try as she might she and all her 60 pounds could not make that rock tip over, She had even dug at the base of the rock hoping that by removing enough ground from below might force the rock to tip but that was proving futile and ruining the inside of her ... den ...
She was a strange wolf coming from a strange background, wanting to sleep under hard stone, rather then in a soft hole. But that was how she was raised and she wanted to hold true to her Cleric roots.
Ahh.. How about yourself? She asked almost as an after thought, she couldn't help but wonder why he was smiling before. Thinking about it and coming up with her own presumptions was nowhere near as good as just asking the question and finding out for sure.

The male wolf was still unsure about how to feel about the female in front of him. She would return his smiles but only for a brief moment. Then the she wolf would return to her emotionless face. He brushed it off as her being uncomfortable with him.
Nerian spoke of her troubles with building her den. He tilted his head and spoke softly. "If you want I can help you with your den. It's no trouble." Gavriil offered. It wasn't any trouble really. He needed something to keep him busy. The male had way too much on his mind and he was welcoming any distractions.
"I'm doing well. Nothing has really happened big to me since the bear attack." Gavriil admitted. This although was false. He had attempted to propose a romantic relationship with their alpha, Pump. That failed horribly. He was rejected by the seemingly emotionless she wolf.

Nerian was not emotionless, she only hid her emotions from view; but she most definitely had them and sometimes had trouble reining them in regardless of her training. She had hoped for something similar with Ragnar but had been rejected similarly, She had not seen him since, she felt like he was avoiding her.
I normally would keep trying myself and refuse help but this time I think it'd be for the best if you would help me, I have not been able to outsmart the stone, I need brute strength that I do not own,
As if to empathize her point She looked down at her petite form then back up at him, her eyes lingering upon his chest and neck a moment longer then was curtious.
Nerian drew in a sharp breath; tearing her eyes away and turned to move toward the denning area with a smooth graceful gait assuming he'd follow her. Even when the ground was uneven she seemed to flow over the sun-kissed earth like silk, her steps surefooted and elegant
Not much for words she grasped at anything to make small talk trying to figure out if he was the kind of wolf like their alpha whom seemed to need it or was he fine without the niceties
I appreciate the offer Gavriil, I didn't really want to seek out Ragnar for help, he seems busy lately Her voice was as lambent as her movement.
Even saying Ragnar's name brought pain to her heart; but she kept her eyes and expression neutral, and focused on Gavriil, so very glad for the distraction of him.

He was strong. This fact was one of the very few (physical) qualities Gavriil appreciated about himself. Helping move a rock was (hopefully) a small task for a wolf his size. Helping Nerian finish her den would be one of the most productive things he did all day.
It was anomalous watching the female and her eyes loiter upon his pale chest and cinnamon colored neck. He had never been desired by a she wolf (well to his knowledge). He only wished in those moments when Nerian’s stare was upon him that Pump would gaze at him like that. If she for even a few seconds would look at him like he is the only thing in this world that matters. Maybe that would come in time, but for now he was as unwanted as a cactus mixed with a porcupine on a hot summer day.
Following the female after she gave a sharp breathe Gavriil watched her trot from behind. She was sophisticated and lithe. Nerian looked like a dancer preparing to run across the stage to execute her final spectacle of awe. The she wolf was nearly opposite of his gait. He was large, while if he wanted (particularly when hunting) he could walk with nearly no sound escaping from his body. For now he wouldn’t worry himself about that. His gait was powerful and noticeable. Gavriil’s posture almost opposed what he truly felt inside.
Gavriil nodded in reply when the female spoke of her thanks. The only thing that caught his fancy was the fact she mentioned Ragnar. ”Did you and Ragnar know each other? Before the Ridge I mean?” The teddy bear inquired with curiosity.

His question caught her quiet by surprise, and just like that the distraction of this male was ruined, her ears lay flat back upon her head showing hesitation and a distaste for the direction the conversation was taking. She'd answer if only to find a new way to steer the conversation. She didn't want Gaviil to know she was technically Ragnar's slave and would do anything Ragnar commanded of her. Even if she questioned the motives of it first.
Of course she had duties to Pump; Since Ragnar answered to Pump, without question, so did she, Everyone else in her eyes were just bodies filling the lands Pump owned.
Then again her upbringing had very, very clear hierarchy and none questioned it, nor tried to speak to anyone above or below their station. This intermingling thing these heathen's insisted upon made her feel very equivocal.
Yes we know each other from far outside the ridge, her ears popped forward then realizing she was letting emotion out in her actions. She chuffed, We've know each other far longer then one might want to know him. That was an inside joke and her attempt at humour but she was not about to elaborate either drudging up the past, and her kidnapping was painful.
As they drew close to the Denning area she cut a path to the farthest reaching corner of it toward a rocky outcropping, What about you Gavriil? where do you hail from? what of your life before this ridge? For this she was interested, she wanted to get to know the real wolf behind his bulky facade.
Added pictures of inspiration for what we are building here
The pictures here are as inspiration for her crude stone den. she is built the supporting wall under a slab that will need to be tipped over to creature the roof, if will be much like the first once but her supporting wall is taller so she can go in comfortably
