It was an amazing display of raw power. The crag had been split in two, unfolding before the alabaster female, rising before her much like an island of earth and rock nestled gently in the sea of green. Wraith had skirted the clearing earlier, seeking signs of life besides prey. Her copper eyes had been fixated on the boulder her entire time, feeling drawn toward it for some inexplicable reason.
Once she determined the the area was devoid of serious threat she had begun exploring its immediate proximity, coming to sit before the stone, her feathery tail coming to wrap around her paws. "What history you must have seen." She spoke softly towards the broken edifice, cupped ears listening for a response she knew would never come. So fascinated was she with the rock, she barely paid heed to the lesser creatures scurrying about.

too starred she at the boulder, halved by some force unknown. it was certainly magnificent, and it had drawn her as she passed through, alone once more. oh, how much fun her last venture had been- she had thrown a group into turmoil, been queen for a time, had lived satisfied and sated and not for want. but she sought not a life not for want, but one exciting and one wide-ranging. so she had left them, the wolves, to fight amongst each other and perhaps dissipate, eventually, or discover the body of their "missing" former monarch.
that was passed, now. now she stood here, a distance away from a boulder and, her gaze sought out a moment later, another who stood by its base. she watched the other, wondered if she would be noticed, a still patch of darkness amongst many more.
