The Dark Priestess

Her goddess had led her to this pack: Silvertip Mountain. A pack that had seen much deceit, betrayal and blood in its day. It was led by a large white she-wolf named Jinx, a warrior woman, no nonsense, strict. She had almost gotten herself killed for getting so close to her pack's land. But somehow the dark priestess survived and got herself into the ranks of Silvertip. All a part of her thread.

Now accepted by the strict woman, Mephala's follower made her way to the mountain, where her new alpha said the pack's communal cave lay. She wondered what types of wolves followed such a strong-willed and narrow-minded female.

Vectra was new still, but she wanted to do what she could to help out her new pack, seeing a dark she wolf. By the scent the female was new to these lands as well, Vectra decided she would venture closer, curious to see if this she wolf was here to assist as well. Walking up to the female she smiled warmly "hello there, how are you?" Vectra asked the dark furred fae.


Vectra sat just a few feet away from the female, giving her reasonable space, if she was the kind of wolf that so desired it. Vectra was new, so meeting people was one of the things she needed to do. At least she thought so.

The first subordinate of her new pack for her to meet was an interesting one, at least in fur pattern. She had a pelt of tawny, brown, tan and ginger shades, and a mask of white pierced by firey eyes. Her multicolored fur intrigued the priestess and she greeted her warmly enough. This wolf seemed nice enough. "I am fine, thank you." she said gently in return.

Her indigo eyes studied the female, not in an aggressive manner, but just curious. "You are one of my packmates, no? I was told to chase you out if you aren't." Meldresi said jokingly, already aware that this wolf was a packmate.

Vectra chuckled as the female jokingly commented about the strict way of how they dealt with strangers "indeed im pack, though im sure you are already aware of that." she joked back to the female, glad that she was already getting on good terms with the other, tail wagged softly behind her as she continued on "My name is Vectra, im also new to the pack, from my understanding... there has been a few incident's... so the pack is being careful" she said trying to explain to the newer member what was happening, while still holding a respectful silence for the dark and deeply recent occurrences that have bothered the pack.

Vectra was already feeling at home here, so she was greatly bothered by what was troubling her fellow members. Vectra planned to assist them in whatever they need to recover from this tragedy.

The white-masked wolf called herself Vectra and said she was also new to the pack. But Vectra warned her that there were some "incidents" that had occurred that had the pack on edge. Ah, so this was why Mephala led her to this pack in particular. Some seeds of dissent had already been sewn here. "My name is Meldresi."

She sat down on her haunches. "Tell me, what happened here that has the pack so upset?"

Vectra had not gathered much, but from what she had seen from the faces of her fellow packmates she could only summarize "betrayal, I assume, the pack has the look that one of there own has betrayed them. Deeply." she finished with a solemn shrug before looking at the ground, as she truly felt for her new packmates, and could not understand whom would want to betray them. Nor why.

"Oh," she had a sympathetic face on the outside, but on the inside she felt pride. Her goddess must be pleased. Betrayal from within one's ranks; that was one of the things that made Mephala proud. So she must have been sent there to stir the angered Silvertip wolves to create more chaos. Intriguing... "Do you know some of the wolves here? What are they like?"

Vectra shrugged as she only knew one wolf really. A male by the name of Itsuki, and even then... not very well. course she had met jinx, whom had let her be a pack member. "umm... no, not really... after all I am kinda new." she said, playing it safe and not giving the other any false information on anyone. She didn't want the girl to get herself caught up in something cause of something Vectra had said.

Vectra gazed the curious female over, "so tell me, why have you joined the pack?" she asked, honestly curious, as she herself was simply looking for a new start, a new home.

Meldresi didn't expect to get much from her. If she was as new as she said then she possibly couldn't know everybody. "I would guess so."

Then came the question. Why had she joined? What was her background? "I'm looking to settle down. I spent most of my life wandering you see..." she said, leaving it vague for now. She would expand upon it later. "What about you?"

Vectra nodded in understanding as the other wolf gave a simple answer, if not a vague one. it was often Vectra met a lone wolf reluctant to share their past. "i was not treated desirably by my last family. so I left." she said, keeping her story simple as well, no need to go into detail with a complete stranger right?

After all, who knew how long this female planned to stay, or what she really intended to do at the pack, Vectra could only just hope for the best from her new packmate. So with a warm smile she said "here let me show you to the pack den" she offered the girl standing up and turning, as if to lead the way.

Like Vectra, she didn't pry into the white-masked wolf's life story. It was their first time meeting, why should she say everything that happened in her life as if she was her close friend? There was time for that later. She would slowly pry information out, like she was used to doing.

With pasts set aside, Vectra smiled and offered to bring her to the pack den. Meldresi rose as well saying, "Gladly," before following the multi-colored female to the communal den of the pack.

Vectra smiled as the female came along with her "very well then, this way" she said as she began to pad towards the den, though she herself had only been there about two times, two was enough for her swift and keen senses to remember the way. As she can tell by scent and sound and memory combined if she was going the right way.

Vectra padded slowly, allowing the girl to ask her questions, should she have any. Also she took her time to enjoy the peace and quiet before they had a buttload of wolfs to encounter. As Vectra was still not used to the numbers, though she kept that to herself, being from a small family and all.

She stayed at Vectra's side, noting the size difference between them. Vectra was clearly a warrioress, while the priestess was slim and graceful looking, more of a courtesan than anything. For a while they walked in silence, until Meldresi voiced a question she had in her head. "I assume the pack den is in the mountain? Is it near the base or up higher?"

Vectra nodded as the dark she wolf spoke "indeed, it is a little bit of both. High and yet within..." she answered before remembering to mention "i must warn you though, the pack will be moving soon, and you mustn't inform anyone outside the pack, the last female to do a betrayal like that.... shes not going to be treated well to put nicely" she gave the warning to the girl, deciding it was better she be warned then foolishly bring harm to herself.

Her indigo gaze scoured the mountain, near its base, but a little up the trunk. There were many caves up there, so it was hard to discern which one was the communal cave. But Vectra would lead her there soon enough. The fire-eyed female told her that the pack would be moving soon, and that annoyed her. She had just joined! But this move must have been planned for a long time now, so it was not good to mope and groan.

Her companion warned her about informing other nonpack member about their departure. A previous member of the pack, a female, had betrayed them long ago and was going to be punished for it. "I wouldn't dare. If we're moving it would not be best to tell our enemies where we resided. It would mean we would be exposed." She had no reason to betray her pack....not yet. Not until her goddess told her so.

Vectra finally led the dark furred girl to a larger den, one that seemed to head well into the mountain. "here we are, im honestly surprised the others are not here already. Though im sure you will meet them soon enough, they are probably all just out tending to their dutys." Vectra said and she lead the girl inside and began to show her around the pack den, so that she would not get lost inside the interior while they still remained here. Vectra assumed that now that the girl knew where the den was she could find it on her own. Tending to her smell and hearing to help her, like Vectra does.

The cave where the pack gathered was covered in beds of moss. In a corner there was a pile of food, most skinned, ready for the pack to eat, though now it was a small one since the pack was moving soon. The priestess could smell her pack all over the cool cave as Vectra lead her through. Sadly Meldresi could not spend much time in the cave, though it looked nice to lay in for a while. But alas, that was how the world worked.

She poked her head in some of the tunnels leading to other caverns. "Does anyone live in here?"

As Vectra finished leading the smaller wolf through the cavern she heard her question. Nodding with a smile she turned around to look at Meldresi. "indeed, they are all just probably out preparing, some have even started checking out the new lands our pack is moving too. So a lot of the pack might be their as well. Don't worry I'm sure you stay near within hearing of our leader and beta and the pack you will not miss the move." she said calmly, assuring the female had all she need to keep along with the pack.

Turning she went to the mouth of the cave, there she sat down looking out into the forest as the girl had the time to poke around a bit more if she so wished. Perhaps ask a few more questions if so desired.

The tour now finished, Vectra lead her back to the mouth of the cave, the main entrance. The white-masked female looked towards the forest, leaving the conversation open to questions. The indigo-eyed wolf turned towards Vectra, voicing her final question. "Where are the traitors living now?" She wanted to know so she could lay poisons and fetishes along their borders to assist her pack.

Vectra shrugged "not sure, im assuming our alpha will call us to a raid when we find the pack that dare take that foolish female in though" she said as she didn't think the girl could have gone anywhere else. Plus she didn't know the full story herself, only that the female dare betray her pack. And Vectra knew she would suffer for it.
