@Amadi
The sun was finishing its decent in the sky as he came to a stop in an open field. The wind was warm and gentle on my fur as he let out a sigh. Traveling for days has been tiring but he felt confident that we had put enough distance from our so called family. he stretched his body as his joints relaxed at the pull of it. They needed to find food and a safe place to sleep. he finally turned to look at his sister and he frowned as her scars are still heavily visable. No doubt she thinks she desevres it, that is comes with the plan of getting stronger. Their father never thought good of her. he had to get her out, father saw her as to weak. To weak for him maybe but she was strong he could see it in her eyes. The will to uphold his stuipd ideal of being overbearingly stong. What a stupid rite of Passage. Kindred felt dumb for almost being blinded by it.
"We should rest here tonight, I can go get us some food if you want to find us someplace safe to sleep tonight,"
She was smaller than him and it was was hard to gauge how tired she was but food and rest are a necessity. Besides if he was tired she must be tired to. he hoped.

It felt as though they had been traveling for ages trying to distance themselves from the Boundry Waters they once called home. Every step she took it felt as though she was betraying their father, their family, the pack. It was a sentiment her brother never seemed to understand. That they were a family and need to work together, only as strong as their weakest link... But that was the very reason she was following him now. She was the weakest link. And for the good of the pack, that link would likely be severed.
She needed time. Time to train. Time to practice. Time to ready herself for the initiation of their pack. If she could pass that initiation she could show everyone she was worthy. Not weak. But everything she was doing back home hadn't been enough. It was never enough. She had convinced herself that a change of scenery or perhaps different challenges would enhance her skill, or at least that is what her brother had convinced her of.
At the start of their travels, they had kept a quick pace. Eager to create as much distance from the pack and themselves. But days later they proceeded at a lazy trot and at times a walk.
How long is he expecting us to travel? Is he really that afraid of what will happen if the pack was to find us. It's not like he would be in much trouble. He's old enough to make his own decisions about if he stays in the pack. But not yet of age, it would be my ass on the line since they are responsible for me.
He stopped in his tracks and stretched himself out and asked if she would find them shelter. "Why? Is the ground too good for you?" she said snarkily. "and don't need your help getting food. I'm not as helpless as you think I am." Finding shelter wouldn't help her, hunting would.

Her snark towards him was unwanted, but given her tone she is tired or more likely frusturated with him.
"No It's the fact I don't want to sleep in an open field in a land we don't know, is why. I want to not have to be on high alert again when we sleep for the night,"
He knew she never cared, but they are in unknown terriotry and he would like to just get some food and a good nights rest before they find a place to really settle and she can grow. He did his best to shove his anger that was coming up at her for thinking he was treating her like some helpless wolf. He knew she could hunt but he knew they have been walking almost non-stop and she must be tired. Why couldn't she see he was trying to be nice? He knew it was stupid to ask her to do the lesser job, He should let her hunt on her own. Growling to himself and glared at her.
"Also I know you're not helpless, but if it hurts you pride too much for me to be nice, go hunt on your own then. Just keep within howl distance. I will find my own food and try to find someplace for us to rest."
He knew it was bad to let his anger show but she was being a brat and he was tired. He flared his tail and walked off to find his own food.

Well, we wouldn't have to sleep in an open field if we had just stayed home.
She thought to herself as she rolled her eyes at him.
But there was no going back now. A return home would likely result in punishment she had had yet to experience. Something she was not looking forward to. Even though she blamed her brother for convincing her to join him, it has still been her choice to make, and one that she had made.
His statements were contradictory to her. A blatant lie about her worth followed by childlike instructions to keep close. Along with the fact that now he was tasking himself with also finding shelter for them, leaving her with the lighter end of the work to only hunt for herself... Did he not believe her able enough to catch his dinner as well... Was she not even good enough for that.
Had she been of sounder mind she might have been able to acknowledge her brother's attempts at kindness, but it was easier to be angry. Easier to let the fatigue in her body and worry in her mind fuse into brattish anger towards the only other wolf around.
She watched as he walked off on her own with a snarky expression on her face till he was a distance away. It allowed her a moment where she could sigh in relief and calm her mind, necessary for the prowl to come.

With her brother out of the way it was easier to keep her mind calm and focused, but it would be a lie to say the thoughts of their home pack weren't still lingering in the back of her mind. Luckily... or perhaps unluckily... the rumbling of her stomach was louder. She prowled the area, head down, and snout to the ground. The scent of varying rodents was littered all over the ground floor making it hard to pinpoint which were fresh. This place must be a varment highway. Jesus.
In their home pack, her frail body made her an uncommon participant in pack hunts, despite her frequent persistence and desire to attend. How were they expecting her to pass a hunting trial without letting her gain experience to hunt. This train of thought was beginning to aggravate Amadi as she proceeded to shake her head as a means of temporarily freeing her mind from them. Well... If they are too hard to sniff out, surely with there being so many of them I could simply sight one... or hear one. She thought to herself as she scanned the region, silent and as still.
The rusting of a bush over her shoulder alerted her scenes and her ears pivoted in its direction. Slowly turning her head she caught sight of a rabbit huddled under the foliage of a shrub. It'll see me if I approach head-on... She slowly turned her head back around and walked forward away from her prey, keeping note of its position. Once it was out of sight she made a wide turn in an attempt to reposition herself in a way where she could approach the bunny from behind. Creeping up slowly back to the shrubs position she attempted to make use of what little trees resided in the area as cover.
Once the shrub was once again in her sights she scanned once more, finding the rabbit a few feet from the shrub. Perfect. Lowering herself to the ground she crawled forward. Inch by inch and slower and slower as she neared the wide-eyed fluff. Now! Lunging from her cover towards the fluffy tail of her target, her teeth snapped a few inches short inducing a chase. Lightest of the family Amadi thought this would be a piece of cake as she took charge. The bunny was also fast, weaving in between trees and taking several quick turns. Amadi right on its tail, only getting tripped up a few times as it took its turns.
The clearing... snapping at the bunny's heals Amadi herded it toward the clearing and away from the few trees which were harder to maneuver around. There it was simply a matter of speed and with that Amadi had the upper hand. Only a few strides into the clearing Amadi was finally close enough to grab onto her prey's back hip. Enough of a grip to stop its progress and allow her a quick bite around its neck. There she held on tights and puffed her breaths. She kept her hold till it ceased its movements. Successful she carried the rabbit back to the area in which she last saw her brother. A meal and definitive evidence that she was capable enough on her own.

Kindred left her alone and began to sniff at the ground to try and pick up any scents of prey to eat. The grass field was quiet but he could pick up faint songs birds among the trees. Heading towards them he picked up the trail of a rabbit and followed low to the ground. He wasn't in the mood for trying to chase his prey, just wanted to eat and get some much needed rest. Luckily his snout hadn't failed him and several bunnies were quietly grazing amoung some shrubs. He could feel his stomach growl as he lowers his ears to hide himself further in the grass.
He slows his breathing as he carefully eyes which one to catch, There are two larger ones that would be enough for him tonight. He creeps closer as they begin to seprate out more. His eyes track the largest of them as it hops closer to him. Its ears and nose perk up as it must have noticed him now that it had gotten close.
With a growl he quickly lunges at it and sucessfully captures it by its neck. The other bunnies scatter as hes tightens his hold as it slowly stops stuggling. He huffs out a breath as he was happy that he at least caught one of them to feed himself. He glances slowly around the area that had gone quieter as he made his trek back to his sister.

When she arrived back at where the two had split she saw her brother already there waiting for her. Similarly to her within his jaws was a rabbit void of life. Of course, he got here before me... and his catch is bigger... geez She thought to roll her eyes. Trotting up to him she lazily dropped her rabbit on the ground to free her mouth. "So... where are we spending the night then?" she asked irritated from being tired. He probably already had a spot picked out

He held back a growl as he scanned the area. He was tired, and it had slipped his mind to keep a lookout for a place to rest.
"I forgot to keep an eye out, but now that we are together we can both look and agree on where to spend the night,"
He had hoped to sound kind as fatigue was setting in, and he was in no mood to agrue with her not with night falling upon them. He just wanted to eat and sleep in peace. Without the fear of being attacked or chased out by anthing in the night. He looked across the field and gestured his head towards the woods again.
"Shall we try to find a place in there?"

It may have simply her stubborn attitude but hearing from her brother that he hadn't found shelter was almost more infuriating than hearing he had found the perfect one, as she had expected. She rolled her eyes and huffed not making it a secret her irritation. He scanned the area and locked onto the woods suggesting they begin their search there. Without a response, she picked up her caught rabbit and began to trot in that direction assuming that her brother wouldn't be too far behind.
She wasn't overly sure what her brother was expecting to find. It wasn't overly uncommon to sleep out in the open or under the cover of a tree. Waling along she took some glances at her brother with her peripheral, waiting for him to declare a suitable home. But her patience was extremely thin and at the sight of an uprooted tree, she walked up to it, laid down. "This is good enough" she said before quickly digging into her meal, a clear sign she wasn't going to move anytime soon.

Her irritation with him did not go unnoticed as she trotted off in the trees. He shook his head before following behind her, at least they would have good food and rest now. Hopefully her bad mood would disapear with the night too. He figured he would let her choose when she kept glancing back at him. They stopped at a uprooted tree where she planted herself and begin to eat. He laid down as well happy to have found someplace. He quickly finished his meal and stretched as he got more comfotable to sleep.
"We should be able to get rest and hunt in the morning before we move on again," he yawned as sleep was creeping in on him. He only hoped that in this new land they could get the help they need.
