Scaling the mesa was no small feat, but Foxglove couldn't bring herself to regret the time she'd spent on it. Not once she saw the pretty blue waters, the way the sunlight reflected off of them. It was a quiet place, beautiful and serene in the absence of other wolves. A good place to waste a few days, she thought.

Foxglove drifted around the water's edge, inspecting the perimeter as if searching for something. All she found was a few worms, which she promptly ate.

no longer did he limp, but he would never admit that @Shani was right. about slowing down, that is.

but now that they had arrived in the sprawling wilds, so vastly different from the ones which they hailed, there was no reason to travel as fast. in fact, he moved leisurely. shani had stayed behind at their last camp to finish dressing the pronghorn they had taken down, and kota took it upon himself to scout out further ahead.

qalu shadows him overhead, black feathers glistening beneath the heavy sun. it is warm, and feels great upon the heated backside of his darker fur; but these weren't lands he fancied staying in long.

in a day or two, he figured they would turn back and head back into 'greener' land (as green as it could get in the winter months.)
