maybe @Sven :o?
his unpleasant interaction with the wraith sees luhtar heading southwest. over ranging lands laid thick in winter's touch, his paws are weary and seek rest. but the northman continues on, a head lowered between thick shoulders.
his belly rumbles. he was due for a meal. in the small week, he had feasted on the parts of a dead rabbit he had found, having shooed away the scavenging fox picking at it.
luhtar moves with thick paws through the undergrowth, scanning amber eyes lowly in the dark. dusk arrives and with it comes a stiff yawn from luhtar, licking at his chops.
if he could, he would settle in this territory for the night before he moved on come morning.

He smelled it before he saw it. Pungent. Musky. And his fur rose. He quickly followed the scent and what he saw there froze his blood and bones. He thought of the pups in the circle. The wolves he was now responsible for and he grew tired and weary. But he would do what he must to protect those therein.
He shifted and moved upwind. And then gave bark of warning. Perhaps this one would move on, not attack. He could hope. he could hope.

Because he was raised speaking both Icelandic and English. He has a slight accent when he speaks English

he comes upon a man, or no; a man comes upon him.
by way of his body language, it appears luhtar had trespassed on what he wasn't aware of. the northman takes a mediating step backwards, a nervous lap at his chops; the wolf offers a wide berth.
whether or not he is given a response, he gives a sway of his tail among his hocks and observes the other man. he is young, but strong. wearing scars, perhaps from guarding or war.
you never know another's story.

halló,luhtar rumbles out, eyeballing the other curiously. unsure and unknowing of if he would understand what he says, but he persists anyway.
er þetta landið þitt?

kinusi will be glad to know he's around if she ever finds him again. It is icelandic, but supposed to be Norse his grandfather was Ragnar Lodbruk who spoke norse and his father Gunnar taught him.
Though he did not fear the man. Because Sven had learned fear usually didn't have a place when guarding and protecting. He was wary.
Had there not been babies so near. He'd have not been thusly. But because there were.
Sven's ears tweaked forward at a language he jad not heard in some time. Like a ghost it whirled and twisted around him. And it eased a ball in his chest he had forgotten was there. And it made him sad. He missed his dad.
Sven had to reach far into his mind. It had been so long since he spoke the language of his father's. But he tried. He stumbled at first, but soon it was clear this had been the first language he had learned at the paws of his father. Who had whispered stories in the language of the man who had raised him.
Hæ. Þetta land tilheyrir mér ekki, en ég vernda það.
He tilted his head. A gleam of pride in his eyes for remembering.
Ég er það, Sveinn.

likewise!!! id love for kinusi and luhtar to reunite ;3; and i use icelandic as well!!
there comes a pleasant look to luhtar when that familiar tongue arrives. uneasy at first, but the other man settles into it after just a few words, and luhtar gives him a surprised smile.
eg hef ekki hitt marga aðra norðmenn. eg er luhtar.
he doesn't claim the land, but protects it. luhtar finds this curious, but noble. in luhtar's mind, every wolf needed a purpose. whether it was healing or speaking to the gods. luhtar preferred the hunt—
he wonders what it is about this territory that calls to this guardian. the bear's ears incline with curious intent, an overall friendly disposition.
eg flyt bráðum. en ég er ekki á móti góðum félagsskap og mat, ef þú ert að leita.
