When Peregrine asked how things went where Pantaleimon had come from, she thought back to shortly before her departure from Sirensong Cove. She thought back to the outsider female, the Siren, tenfold more beautiful than Pantaleimon (but then, any genuine female was, because she looked like a big brutish teddy bear rather than an elegant beauty). The way she had looked at Pantaleimon. Pan thought to how she had tried to convince the Queen that it was a bad idea, that she did not want to, but the Queen was determined that Pantaleimon was the best fit. The best fit to bring the Nereides bloodline into the life of the gorgeous girl that was devoted, but not originally of the Nereides.

It was the worst day of Pantaleimon's life. With an emotional frown on her face, Pantaleimon stared straight ahead while she walked and thought back to that night, to the rituals, to her utter and horrible failure. It was only when Peregrine asked if she had ever been 'twitterpatted' that Pantaleimon snapped from her thoughts.

"I... T-twitterpatted?" Pan stammered, not understanding what Peregrine meant. "Oh, sorry, we, uh... Males and females are... The Queen usually d-decided who, uhm, you know..."
