"I don't recall how many days I spent in search of you." She responded swiftly, her tone bland. It was dismissive - a tone she often used for the men of the Rise, and hardly ever for her warrior sisters, but it implied something else as well. Xiuhcoatl did not count the days nor did she have a set schedule; she knew she would find Tezcacoatl eventually. That it had taken this long... That was, in part, the fault of his guard. The least they could have done was send word back to the Queen of their wereabouts.
Aside from that comment, Xiuhcoatl had nothing more to say. She trailed after Nochtli easily enough, and on more than one occasion her swift steps had her nearly overtaking the dark woman's position, but she did try to hang back a little. There was quite a ways to go before they reached the land that Tezcacoatl wished to call his kingdom - the very thought made her chuff softly to herself and pick up some speed - but for the first time in a long while, Xiuhcoatl was not in a talkative mood.
Still... It had been many days since she had seen another sister, and it was nice to have the company of one of her own. "This place is abysmal." Xiuh commented, sounding a little bit bored and still a bit annoyed, but she was trying. After lurching ahead another few feet, she added, "That boy... He really has no idea who he is? Who we are?" And, with a shake of her head, Xiuhcoatl fell silent once more.
