Hoshor Plains [j] fear feels like an act

Open to any Hoshor Plains member but tagging @Rakharo ! :-) Also, I made some assumptions here. Feel free to poke me if they're wrong and I'll change them; lame first post is lame.

The travel to these strange lands had not been as arduous as it had been spoken to be, though Jakhago had suspected he hadn't been meant to hear the words that the others had whispered shortly before he'd taken off to find Rakharo's Khalas. Perhaps he had not been intended to survive, but he was loyal and faithful to the Khalas, as the day he'd been since he was born, he assumed. He'd always been a slave, just as he'd been a eunuch for as long as he could remember – his docked tail the mark of it. He'd given everything for the Khalas because ...there was nothing else. Surviving the journey was easy, if it did not find him a bit hungry. It took more than fawns and hares to sate his appetite, and to keep his body fit. The afternoon was hot, though the cloud coverage from above kept the excess heat of the sun off of his back as he moved South. His movements were not fleet of foot, lumbered though his pace was brisk. Jakhago had lost count of how many days he'd been searching for Rakharo and his Khalas because, in reality, it didn't matter. All that mattered was that he found them and served them as faithfully as possible — as loyally as he knew how.

His pace slowed as he approached pack lands, stopping with adequate distance between their borders — marked by the scent of their urination and the secretions of scent from their paw pads worn into the earth where they patrolled — and his body. The eunuch did not howl for them, instead lowered his sable muzzle towards the earth and sniffed at the scents, picking out what was familiar to him. It was only after Jakhago had affirmed that the strongest scent belonged to Rakharo did he raise his muzzle towards the heavens and let out a call, alerting to the Khalas inside the lands of his presence.
