Set before the BWP, as clouds begin to gather.
Bazi awoke with an unsettling feeling in the pit of her stomach. It had no identifiable cause, and it was not until the skies started arming themselves for attack that she would understand that it had been a warning.
Still oblivious, Bazi set out for the site of Danica's demise. She had not asked Kaskara to bury the remains, but doubted there would be anything left - healthy meat did not last long in the wild. Several hours of futile searching confirmed her suspicion; there was nothing left. Not even bones.
But she did stumble on something. There, hovering in the air like the sulphuric trail of a recently lit match, was a scent she recognized. Bazi blinked, searching her memory for its owner. The calling cards of lost and deceased wolves were piling up in the archives, and it took her some time to isolate Tuwawi from the mess of data.
Bazi could scarcely believe her nose. Further investigation revealed other scents - foreign, but thick up on the land, marking a clear border between public land and claimed property. The mountain Alpha gaped up at the ragged ridge of rock ahead of her, rising above the previously inhabited glacier like a row of black teeth. If Tuwawi had found her way home.. where was Njal? And Maera?
Above the world, the skies had begun to darken.
