He sensed Siren's presence, and upon turning, gave her a small nod of welcome and acknowledgement before again seeking the source of his discomfort.
A twig snapped, closely tailed by a figure stepping into view. She approached peacefully enough but still he kept his posture warning, raising his head and tracking her carefully. He did not recognize her, and the slight tang of disappointment he would soon grow accustomed to slipped through, gone almost as swiftly as it came.
"That is close enough," he deemed at length, tone final. What the stranger wanted he wasn't sure, but she was now close enough that he detected the scent of others. Recent others. She was not a loner, it seemed, and this made him more on edge. "Why are you here, so close to our lands?"
