Damien seemed irritated, although Cicero could not tell why precisely. He had thought Damien wanted a ticket out, if only for a little while, whilst Cicero stayed with the pup. The pup only irritated Damien, after all, and while it irritated Cicero too he was more resilient to this. The whining was annoying, but it was worth it in light of their plan, and of the benefit they would have with keeping Baldur until they had Grimnir where they wanted.

Cicero cast Damien a mystified look before he departed to show he did not understand the frustration, and then looked around for the pup. At first he didn't see it -- it wasn't where they had last left it -- but then he saw it walking away, trying to finds it way home. Or perhaps it simply wanted to irritate the brothers further.

Cicero walked over to the pup with a grin on his face. "Not to worry. Damien is gone, so Baldur can stop being annoying." He picked Baldur up and trotted back to where they'd initially been, glad he had not lost the pup altogether. Cicero waited there, keeping a close eye on the pup. This became increasingly easier now that he did not have Damien to argue with and could give his full attention to watching Baldur.

After a while Damien returned, luckily with food. Cicero was impressed to see his brother catch such big prey alone. He wished Damien would've gone for an easier, less dangerous prey; if he'd gotten hurt, their plan would be in smithereens. However, since Damien had succeeded, Cicero did not longer upon the thought too long. "Impressive," Cicero said, and he took a piece to chew so that he could regurgitate it for Baldur, who had to be hungry.
