The fox that shot towards him was teeth out and he responded much the same, catching it as it passed him by along its flank. The resounding squeal of pain from it only increased its want to escape from them all, but he easily overpowered it.

Nearly once did it completely free itself from him when he went to let up his grip of it in an attempt to go after its neck. But Mordecai was a skilled hunter and in spite of his surprise and easy grab, he soon had it captured again. But the thrashing made it difficult for him to easily subdue it — he would have to wait until it tired.
