Reek wandered the northeastern most reaches of the maplewood with a happy pep to his step and the femur of a recent kill carried in his jaws. It was a fine bone — perfect for chewing and throwing around. But, with perfection came a price; Reek knew the covetous eyes of his pack mates would be drawn with envious greed to his treasure, and he wasn't sport to share. Maybe he could share with Saena... but even then, he still hadn't given the idea the time of day. It was his, and his alone.
Protective measures needed to be taken to insure the safety of his prize. He pushed past the northern border of his packs lands and walked down to the banks of a pond. Held captive by his intent, Reek didn't notice the wolf who walked the edge not too far away. He found a dry patch of soil and stopped. He dropped his bone to the ground and began to dig. Soon, he was covered in dirt from head to tow. He bit the bone a final time as if to say goodbye 'for now' and dropped it into the shallow hole. The bone was then reburied and Reek took mental note of where to find it again.
With his task now finished, Reek lifted his filthy head and finally laid eyes on the other wolf. Drat. His bone was spotted; his hiding place spoiled. Knowing that his hiding space was no longer super-duper secret, Reek dug up his bone and carried it elsewhere... where prying eyes wouldn't see.
