He allowed Lasher to put the fears that arose to rest, surprised that they would question this but not bothered by it. He had absolutely no desire to go to a place where their presence would be at all unwelcome and did not want to earn ire with their neighbors.

If she was still looking for a chance to take on a task, maybe that was the one she should be given. He could accompany her or send another as well, just in case she wasn't met amicably.
"We shall have to introduce ourselves, but it is not near enough to be worrying." They shouldn't bother them and likely wouldn't compete in harder months.
