Whoever this was, she was far, far away from Silvertip Mountain. That makes seven, Bazi thought to herself, adding the stranger in her sights to the mental count she had of wolves that now belonged to Jinx. The fresh scent of distant mountain was thick on her, and from her vantage point downwind, disguised by thick shrubbery, it was easy to identify.

She debated whether or not it would be appropriate to call Fox, or Njal - Duck Lake was perilously close to the Creek borders, but Lunar both alone and far from home. And by the looks of things, she wasn't hunting.

Bazi emerged from her hiding place with a woof to catch Lunar's attention. Ferdie ensured that she was always freshly groomed, and today was no different - she shone like a cloud that had been anchored to the ground. By contrast, Lunar was the colour of rich, fertile earth.

"You're far from home," Bazi called down from the banks, tail raised high but wagging. She cocked her head to the size, smiling at the messy spectacle going on in the water. "For your own safety, you should know there's a pack very close by."
