Burke looked at him skeptically for a moment. Then he started to talk why he belonged in this pack. They did not only house assassins. They also had spies and other cunning creatures. They mostly liked to accomplish mystery. The alpha was interested in hearing he killed his sister. Cold. But that could be only talk. The wolf was not a fan of words, he preferred deeds. Then came the mention that the wolf was clever. A smart wolf would not mention that. Burke was starting to believe that this wolf was all bullshit talk.

"And what if we already have enough mercenaries?," he returned. Burke was not confirming anything or rejecting him. He was just giving the male something to think about it he was so clever. Seeing that in his answer it didn't sound like he thought about it. He was not coming over as very clever. But hey who was he to judge maybe is next answer would make him a tad more interesting.
