She sat on the beach, watching the waves lap lightly at the pebbly shore. It was evening, sun sinking in the sky as neared the ever present horizon. It was beautiful but her mind was unfocused on the panorama before her. Her mind was turned inwards, thinking of her family and what they may be doing.

She snapped out of it as the wind shifted, bringing the scent of a male with it. Her eyes scanned the darkening beach, wondering where he was. She turned, back to the ocean as she didn't kindly take to being snuck up on and didn't want to be caught unawares if he suddenly appeared as his scent got stronger.
