The wolf was running.
Muscles moved smoothly under a pelt of cream, fur rose and fell in the motions that strong legs led the wolf through. Paws thudded against cool ground, mostly barren, making no effort to be silent. Rocks slipped from under the paws, as the lithe body twisted and leapt over any obsticle in it's way. Composed and running with rythm, not haste and fear, made this wolf a sight to behold. Eyes a deep chocolate gleamed from a pale face, a thick pelt meant for winter covered a lanky frame. Sunlight, the las of it, streamed through a forest of barren trees, setting a golden haze on the world below. With the falling of the golden orb came too the cool, something in which the femme delighted.
She continued her run, delighting in the simply joy of it. Scents, of pack, of growth, of rain and twilight, the feel of earth breaking away under her paws as her thudding pawsteps sent tiny pebble and earth up behind her. Her body tensed and untensed, coiled and sprung, until, quite abruptly, she stopped. Muscles humming, she pad softly towards a small pool, perhaps left behind from the rain. She dipped her head and partook in the cool liquid, rouge droplets coating her muzzle, as she drank greedily. Her salmon tongue flicked into the water, drawing toward her more of the life-sustaining fluid.
The femme was happy. Simply, pure, joy. And why should she not be? The growth returned, she had reached a land of plenty, newness coated everything around her. She could simply spin in a circle, and everything she laid eyes on would be a first. The first time she saw that stream, that rock, that tree. It was exilerating, frankly, and the femme frankly didn't care who saw or their opinions on her obvious happiness. She lifted her maw, glancing at the sun as it slowly crept behind a veil of trees and down, what seemed like, into the earth itself. She watched as the sun set, ears flicked forward, form stilled.
