She imagined that Spring had gone through this months (maybe even years) ago — the worry, the regret, the wishing she had done more. No doubt remnants of those feelings lingered, but there was no real discussion left regarding what to do about wolves who'd gone missing so long ago. That's a sensible conclusion, she said quietly when Spring said it was likely Lilac was dead (though she couldn't even guess at what the humans had done to Kalik). It was a hard truth, but Shreya was a very honest individual. At six months old, Lilac would have been very lucky to survive on her own in the wild.

Spring moved on to the next chapter, explaining how she'd started as a healer. This was another interesting little tale, for Shreya had actually heard of Spring's healing abilities from Esaro before she'd even met the woman. Ahh, she said as she learned of this.
