Although the pale male put up a good fight, Peregrine refused to ease up or relinquish his grip. Remaining steady despite his opponent's struggles, the Alpha male eventually managed to push him down to the ground. As he did so, he raised his tail to indicate his unmistakable dominance. He felt an urge to give the male a little shake, yet didn't wish to leave marks on him, so he finally loosened his jaws and rewarded the stranger with his freedom.

"It is good for you to acknowledge your place," Peregrine remarked, licking his lips, "which will be at the bottom of the heap, if I choose to accept you. Of course, you can always work your way up the ladder. You've shown some evidence of your warrior skills but what else do you bring to the table? And what's your name? I'm Peregrine."
