Ears turned back, Shrike moved toward the call. Though it hadn't been directed at him, he had been in the area, patrolling the borders as he often did, and though he knew Fox and/or Peregrine would show up soon, he would not allow a stranger to stay at their borders without supervision. He was relieved that at least the wolf had made their presence known, as it might have been some time before Shrike made his way toward that area; still, he had no idea how Peregrine and Fox would feel about being summoned, though the call had a subservient and respectful tone to it. Perhaps it was a wolf from another pack, with news or something of the like...They hadn't really had too many messengers come their way, after all, and he figured it was about time.
He brushed up against a burdock bush on his way to greet the stranger and ended up getting eight or nine burrs stuck in his fur. Grumbling quietly to himself that ain't nobody got time for that, he ignored the prickles despite the fact that it irked him to no end to show up in front of a stranger with burrs stuck in his fur. Plus, they itched, and Shrike hated that kind of discomfort.
It turned out that the stranger looked glossy and clean, despite the wild look about his slim, reddish figure. He looked fit enough, quite sharp and wiry, much like Shrike. But there was something a bit different about his build, perhaps it was the narrowness of his muzzle that hinted either that he was part coyote (or fox, though Shrike didn't think that was possible) or had been born a runt and had never really filled out. His head and tail lifted as he came to an abrupt halt, directly blocking the newcomer, and inhaled sharply, to memorize the male's scent, should he cause trouble and become Shrike's next seek-and-destroy victim.
"I'm Shrike. Gamma. You are?"

"I'm Shrike. Gamma. You are?"
And that first kiss coming, let's just freeze the frame
Your eyes were closing, as mine were opening
