With a quick burst of speed, Asherah changed her path. Before Ar-Khalba could cut her off and lock her down, she slipped further away into the woods. Enough was enough. It was with sheer desperation that Ar-Khalba made his final move. Adjusting his course, Ar-Khalba followed with new found speed and intensity. He pushed him lean, sinewy body to the limit.
As he closed in, Ar-Khalba could see Asherah begin to slow. Amidst her evident confusion, he could see she was tiring. Like any prey, once exhaustion set in, the hunt was nearly over.
When Ar-Khalba had taken Asherah as his lover for the first time, he had been gentle, careful in his touch. The chace had awoken a different beast in Ar-Khalba. He was a thing of need -- a missile of unchecked lust. It was with force that Ar-Khalba wrenched Asherah to the ground as soon as he was granted purchase of the scruff of her neck. Then, Ar-Khalba started to madly scramble to lock his hip into place behind her.
