His exploration became bolder as Witchhazel grew more comfortable in the sentinels and as did he in his role as father and guardian. He still did not give himself the title of parent - it was overwhelming and strange. There were many who would serve the little girl better he felt, than a male who had never tended to any young before. Still somehow he seemed to accomplish things in his won way, she was fed, she was engaged, she seemed happy enough. 

Still it did little to curb Castiel's great longing to know more and to understand, and even the captivating Armand had not satisfied that itch in him. It perhaps left him more questions than answers, in reality. The large male shook his coat out as he took to the mountains to explore a land he had not yet touched. Witchhazel was with Deirdre and he let the two females have their time together, Castiel in turn taking to the night and doing as he pleased. 

He was masked by the darkness, the moon showing him the weaker points of the mountainside as he climbed so that he did not fall. It was a nicety, one he did not take for granted, even though he had never found himself on the mountains for long. His steps were steady, massive frame helping to keep him rooted to the ground rather than send him tumbling down the mountain side.
