Kaskara hadn't seen her daughter in some time, and had worried over Eimear's absence even as she continued her duties as alpha. During one such patrol of the borders, she caught wind of her daughter's scent, but followed it to a dead-end. Later that day, she was debating whether or not to go after her when she heard her child's distant howl, calling first for her father, then closer, calling for her. Frantic and fearing the worst, Kaskara reached Eimear, who was curled into a ball, weeping over her own tail.
