he wanted to believe her, he really did. Casmir gathered Rowan against his chest and was silent, save for a gentle "love you." perhaps without the formality of gazing into her eyes and saying the words, it was easier, and a genuine smile tugged at his lips. he closed his eyes, inhaling her fragrance. this was home, he decided — there was nothing to take out of the old den he'd shared with Laika. he would start over with Rowan and her kids; everything would stay the same, except that he'd curl up with them during the cold nights, and fuck whoever had a problem with it.
