Neverwinter Forest Blue Skies

The new mother had smothered her child in her soft fur and warmth, slumbering peacefully beside him. Parenthood was not as troublesome as she had thought - all it did was whine, poop, pee, eat and sleep. Surely it would grow and begin talking, but for now, it was rather quiet. Maybe that was because this boy was her only child, and some mothers carried 3 or 4 souls with them. Somewhere, she was glad that her first was a beautiful, healthy boy - even if two had not made it. This way, there would be no fighting near her belly for the best teat or sparring when they got older. Kjalarr and her could direct all their attention on only him, yet did have to be careful to not spoil him.

Sounds of her firstborn awoke her from her dream, and she blinked her bi-coloured eyes a few times before she could see the den. It was the same as ever - safe for the snow on their doorstep. She hoped it would be spring soon, so their boy could see the flowers grow and the butterflies make their way to each and every one of them to get their meal. And in the summer, they would take him to the sea - the mother could almost not wait for it, but knew to treasure these infant moments too. As for today; she saw something different. Not odd, just something that wasn't so before. Big, blue eyes looked around, and her own were focused on the snowy boy. She gasped, almost kicking Kjalarr who she assumed to be in there with her.

Look- Look! He is seeing! She let out elated, pressing her face close to their son. Could he see her? What did he think of her? Could he think?
