Turtle Island save yourself

Gabe watched the female, waiting for her to respond to his introduction. But instead of a greeting from her, the boy was practically spat at by the way she ignored him. His jumping to the conclusion that she was in danger had been a foolish thing to do, but he'd had only the best on intentions. And if they were going to be stuck on this island for a while, Gabe had thought they could get along and maybe hunt and keep each other warm. Teamwork and such. But the female turned around, and walked away without another word.

Still not sure what he'd done to upset her, the young man rose from where he'd sat and shook his pelt out from head to toe. He would have to groom himself later, to get the sticky feeling out of his fur, but he didn't mind. He trotted quickly over to the female, his head ducked slightly to show he meant no harm. He didn't say anything at first, he just walked at her side. Then he turned to her with a cheerful grin on his face. Hi, I'm Gabe. He stated again, in a sort of teasing tone.
