It had been a few days, and still Dante wandered. He was starting to wonder if maybe he wasn't being a little ridiculous, ghosting about these lands like some sort of spirit, appearing here and there before leaving as though he had never been. Perhaps Atrix had been right... mayhaps by denying that which he had been bred for he was losing his chance at actually finding a place to call home. He'd met some nice characters, that's for sure. First Jace had been very helpful. Then fishing with Joulooke had been a great experience, and he had enjoyed his conversation with the wolfess whom he had met around these parts through which he was wandering now. Even the Alpha whom he had met had captured his interest.
But nothing had really stuck out. And the decision hadn't gotten any easier. Most of them, in their own way, had extended to him an offer of joining. But where would he be truly useful? That had yet to be seen.
Dante's mind was so preoccupied that he didn't notice the other wolf until he was almost upon him. He stopped sharply, shaking his head. "I apologize," he said, backing a ways away. "I don't mean to intrude."
