As soon as the boy finished speaking, the woman whirled around to face him with her eyes narrowed with a fiery intensity. His words were cut off abruptly because of this, and he skittered to a stop to keep from getting closer. He thudded back onto his rump and flattened his ears, as if she were his mother and she was about to scold him. With a long sharp breath she began to speak, well at least he assumed it was speaking. However realizing it sounded similar to the language Kalika had once spoken to him, his ears unflattened.

You one of Kalika's sisters? He asked, sitting up straight. Why did it seem like all of Kalika's pack were evil? Kalika was definitely the only one he liked so far, and he did like her a lot. If not for her, we would've been off the coast in no time.
