though Ragnar may like to think Thistle was good at child rearing the truth of the matter was simply that she was doing her best on second hand knowledge and instinct and basically bumbling along. Before she had left her mother had sat her down and gave her all the knowledge she could about birth and rearing and all of the above. it had been an eye opening experience and at the time had made her uncomfortable. However, now she was counting it a blessing and wanted to hug her mother for imparting that amazing knowledge before she left.
