Scents of so many sorts tickled her nose and lie scattered, this way and that, as she delved deeper. It began to look more characteristically like swampland and smell even more like peat, she mused, although never quite like any other she had known. For all of her miles traveled, she still viewed it all with a fresh eye, one with proper reverence for the vastness of the wilds she had been unleashed upon; nothing would ever be the same, here, there, or anywhere between them.
While hunger did drive her forward, she was not so focused to overlook the presence of another when within range. But, she took the information in stride and kept moving--a casual jog, and likely looking on the prowl for something, which was no lie. She'd gauge their interest, whether or not they followed after her in the first place, and always rely on her speed as a fall back in case the encounter should go south.. all of which had served her well in the past, so again today in this soggy territory, it could be no different.
And when indeed, she did not shake the other's apparent attention quite so easily, she pulled to a sudden stop and glanced over her shoulder towards the stranger. For her first clearer look of him, it turned out he's more wolf than she had anticipated. Her ears angle back somewhat and she found herself keenly aware of her hackles wanting to stiffen. "Who are you?" she quipped. She'd guided them to a dense copse full of lowly-grown shrubbery it seemed, but just ahead, it was getting wetter and she was getting hungrier.
While waiting to hear him out, her tail flickered thoughtfully before she moved forward again, heading for the loudest sounds of frogs and water with or without him--he'd decide.
