the beach - the neighbourhood

There was something oddly satisfying about the silence, the few minutes of complete and utter silence, that seemed to come after the sun touched the sea and began to drown in it. It was as if all sound was following the sun in its slow descent towards wherever it was it dissapeared to.

These were the moments Maera felt most alive, or at least most happy to be so.
These were also the moments Maera felt her energy levels reach their peak. It was weird how it was that at the very end of the day, or beginning of the evening depending on how one looks at it, was when Maera found it harder to stay still. Mornings were dreadful - almost always- especially if she didn't wake up on her own but was woken.
ugh.

Anyways.
With her paws falling softly on the sand, Maera treaded lightly across the beach as the rosy pink and orange hues of the sunset painted the background. Then, as she continued to walk, she lowered her head for her nose to hover over the sand so she could continue her neverending search for food,trouble or treasure.
