He only had eyes for an old crippled doe, bony and shrunken by some illness or such, and an easy target as far as he was concerned. He positioned himself from the most advantageous angle he could manage, and slunk as close as he dared without alarming the fleet ungulates to his presence. Darcia directly faced his quarry, knowing that when he sprang, she would have a difficult time pivoting in time to avoid his assault.
