She felt her excitement waver as Terance admitted he hadn't seen one, a brief flicker of disappointment almost flashing across her face before she quickly masked it. She couldn't have him think she was being rude. Perhaps the fallen stars that made it to the earth were rare. Maybe some burned up before reaching the ground? Or faded from existence upon landing? Or were snatched away by those pesky coyotes?

She looked to Charon as Terance did, the younger wolves now staring at the older man with both admiration and anticipation— Lyra was, at the very least. She beamed as he proudly announced he had seen a star! It sounded wonderful, and she hoped she would have the chance to see one for herself, but the fact that it faded with time was an uncomfortable one. She glanced back at the sky almost wistfully.
