It had been alittle over a week since Heartha's death and emotions were still high among the pack. Pema hadn't heard from or about Howl in that time since the incident occured and she was beginning to worry. Yes he had said horrible things to her, but they were words from the pain of losing someone. Not from things he actually felt. At least that's what Grayday had assured her when it happened. She didn't want him to feel alone in a time like this, especially if he was still in that den with them.
When she approached the den she did it slowly, not sure if Howl would still be harboring his anger. But when she glance in she saw nothing, other then a few flies flying around. Taking a step in she could see the blood where they had layed, but nothing more then that. Also missing was Howl. Using the skills she had pick up going on the tracking missions with the pack she followed his scent out of the den and into the woods.
It was leading rather far into the woods, a place she didn't think she would ever find herself unless she was hunting or doing the exact thing she was doing now. Then she came upon it, their barrial ground. Two mounds of dirt with Howl's scent on them. The scent of Heartha and the pups had been smuthered by the mounds of dirt, but she knew that's where they were. She sat down with her head down mourning silently over their absence.
