Genie watched unimpressed as he jerked in surprise before proceeding to flop back to the pained position she'd first found him in. Quietly, her amber eyes flicked over his body, scanning for any surface injuries. It appeared that there were deeper and more serious wounds from the way he was acting, but this was a guy who freaked out over a thorn in his paw, so Genie quickly determined that his reactions weren't to be trusted.

"No shit," Genie deadpanned at his confession, her words sparing him no sympathy. "You shouldn't be apologising to me," she said after a moment of silence, her tone softening just a fraction. "Apologise to yourself for getting yourself into such shit." Her teeth wore into her lip as a memory of her saying similar words to her ex girlfriend flashed through her mind. But although she dismissed it quickly, it was not fast enough as familiar pangs of pain stabbed at her heart.

A hiss slipped between gritted teeth and Genie cocked her head to the left in a gesture of annoyance. "Remi, tell me what happened. From the beginning," she lowered herself next to the boy and began examining him.
