The voice, vaguely familiar, caught his attention. He got the feeling that he should know who the voice belonged to but, by the sound alone, he wasn’t entirely sure. Slowing to a stop and turning around, his eyes immediately landed on the face of someone that he could never forget: Portia! Overcome with excitement, the boy began hopping up and down, weight switching back and forth between his forelimbs. With his tail wagging a mile per minute, he bounded over to her, sliding and then plopping down on his stomach when he tried to stop. Portia was still there! His plant-lady hadn’t left!

Crawling closer to her, he bumped his head against her left forelimb, a wide smile never leaving his face. He couldn’t get over the fact that she wasn’t just there, still, but she was right there with him! So much time had passed since he last saw her, but she hadn’t changed at all. She still looked the same and still sounded the same—she was still Poor-shah. His joy over seeing her escaped him in high-pitched whines, whilst he remained pressed against the snow, energised and experiencing bliss in its purest form.
