Stone Circle Tonight we feast

They had worried the bison down to nothing and Larus was proud of each wolf involved; he couldn't remember the last time he had felt this exhilarated from a hunt. He had certainly never taken down anything of such size before, with or without assistance. The pack continued to snap and tear at the bison but it was Valette who took up the important position by it's throat: and before long, she had ended it's life.

Larus was not a religious individual but even he couldn't help but dip his head in reverence to the massive beast before him. It was a law of equivalent exchanges: the end of one life for the continuation of the next. The moment was brief, and afterwards Larus marched up close to where Valette was tearing at the fallen beast's belly. She was collecting the tender sweet bits first.

Truthfully the man wasn't even hungry. He had expended quite a lot of energy in the pursuit of the bison, in the harassment of it, but he was also filled to bursting with adrenaline. He would not be eating for a while anyways — the others deserved it more — so he fell back from the fresh carcass and patrolled around the group, keeping a watch out for scavengers that would doubtlessly be lured by the scent of fresh blood.
