The distinct wrath of nature had always been a source of power for the aging aide. Thunderous claps and roars ripped across the land, lightning following between skips with quick strikes. It was a proper way to greet the newest additions to their pack, Forrest thought; even though they were none the wiser, the gods were putting on a show just for them, the survivors.
Welcome home, little ones.
It was a part of her duties to check in on Anna and the pups intermittently. When she had time to invest and energy to waste, Forrest would go foraging for borage leaves and lavender; a milk producing, muscle relaxing cocktail, exclusive to new moms. She made a detour to the herb cache and gathered a mouthful of each, before making a beeline through the bushes and raindrops for Anna's whelping den.
