Several long, quiet minutes pass by with nothing but the rush of the river water to be heard. Then, from across the river, kohl-lined dark amber eyes slowly emerge to glint at the two strangers from beneath the shelter of some low-growing shrubby spruce trees. Occasional breaks in the tree branches reveal the wolf's body to be a pale grey with darker grey mottling on his over coat. The eyes stay trained on them, angled severely downward, but soon they flick to look further into the depths of the pack territory - betraying that this wolf was not the pack leader these travelers were seeking. Soon, the eyes turn back upon them and a low growl emits from the shrubs. He would wait for one of the alphas to answer the call of these wolves, but he had no intention of leaving them unsupervised.
