A white figure dipped her head towards the water, gently lapping at the cool sustenance that refreshed her as soon as it touched her pink tongue. She drank her fill, the crystal drops latching onto her muzzle. The ripples cleared away into a perfect mirror, and the first peeking stars reflected onto the surface, winking brightly.

‘The moon shall be out soon…’ Luna thought quietly. Her head reared back to glance up at the darkening skies, blue and green eyes turning their intensity towards the heavens. It was nightfall already, and she had been hoping to reach her destination by the afternoon. It would have to be tomorrow.

For now, she had to find somewhere comfortable to rest for the night, and perhaps hunt something to satisfy her growing hunger. After all, she had hardly had anything to eat since morning.

Stretching out her athletic legs, the wolf began to stalk along the stream, eyes darting wildly to spot any signs of game nearby. Her small black nose was daintily held in the air, sniffing carefully. Paws abruptly stopped in their path, her ears flattening against her skull confusion. She could smell the metallic blood of a game, but there was also the presence of an unknown being up ahead. It smelt like wolf, but there was something mixed in with the scent, and the unfamiliarity bothered her greatly. The wolf paused, contemplating, but the need for food and her instinct to hunt only grew stronger.

Luna pressed forward, only stopping when she caught sight of another wolf-like being with a dead rabbit in his mouth. She immediately stiffened, not knowing what to expect from this person who had a strange scent. Her guarded expression stared at him, and she lowered her stance defensively just in case.

“What are you?” She asked flatly. Her conscience told her this was really rude, but she knew better than to appear fragile to others. She had learnt this lesson the hard way in the past.
