He peeled away a section of skin and scales and snapped it down his gullet.

"Up the coast a ways," he replied, wondering if sticking around was wasting both their days. "But now you've got me at a disadvantage, ma'am. You've got my name and my story, but I've got neither of yours." If she answered without venom, he decided he'd try a bit harder to make friends. If not, he'd leave it for another day and finish his fish somewhere else.
