He hadn't seen the bird.  Wherever it squeaked off to, it wasn't in front of the rampaging cinnamon youth.  Goofing off like this was pretty fun -- he'd learned more about the territory just by this kind of thing.  Okay, he wasn't seeing much zipping along tilt, but it was enough.  Akatosh wouldn't get lost!  Maybe.


But then, a bark!  His brothers calling out!  He skidded to a stop, spinning to face them.  A playful growl and he lashed the stick around, whipping it against the bushes once more.  It didn't sound as much like some kind of crazy monster crashing through the bushes now though.  Obviously much more distinct.  He paused, growled, then shook his head again, causing another rattle of foliage.  He didn't know if they were up for games or if he'd interrupted something.  With age came more independence, new stories.
