From those glittering eyes he could almost glimpse a swarm of lost arrows that had struck painfully where they should not have, and he assumed quickly that she had suffered in the past - it was not a revelation to him, for he knew loss and hurt all too well, and perhaps it showed in his own eyes for a few heartbeats as he gazed back, contemplating what to say.
