Dragoncrest Cliffs Pressures of a new place roll my way

There’s a weird sort of validation hearing the good idea from Eastwood. She doesn’t know him and he hardly knows her but he has roots deeper in Drageda than she ever will. She can devote her life to them and still be labeled an outsider by some, including Blixen, but hearing praise from another settled deep no matter how small, she feels a bit better. Maybe, she thinks, she made the right decision.
 
Before she has a chance to speak, she turns her gaze when something pale catches her attention. Mallaidh blinks dumbly in the distance, watching Artaax stand in the background. He doesn’t stay very long, and she doesn’t react fast enough to go after him (does she want to go after him)? She’s suddenly faced with a memory she’s repressed but a new surge of anxiety comes over her and she realizes how much she actually needs to talk to him. It is clear by his departure that he does not want to talk to her and her ears droop a little on her head as she turns back to her companion.
 
“I’ll uh, I’ll talk to Blixen about it and see if she’d be up for working with us,” she says with a thump of her tail. “But I think I should get going. It was nice to meet you,” she manages, awkwardly, as her mind can think of nothing else than the last time she’d been with Artaax.
