God, the tears. Queenie held back a grimace as she watched the girl's eyes well up. She understood how emotional childhood could be, but seeing how much those untamed emotions had affected her own child made Queenie realize that she'd come back just in time.
I'll stay, she confirmed with a nod of her head. What she meant was that she would stay with her offspring; whether or not that meant staying in the Sanctuary, well, that was a different question.
Did you miss me?she asked with a sigh as she stood back upright and took a step back. She wondered where the others were, where Delight was hiding, and why Alarian hadn't come to meet her by now. She had a lot of questions about what had happened within the pack since she'd left, but she knew better than to depend on a toddler for reliable information.
Where are the others?
