he yelped, more out of surprise than pain - a blur of reddened brown filled his periphery as his world suddenly rotated in a blurring kaleidoscope - in mere seconds rannveig was curled and pulled under the tide. as the splash of cold water overcame him he recognized his attacker and instead, dove deep into the bracing sea.

when he emerged he was shocked breathless by the frigid lap of the ocean's tongue and padded to shore to seek refuge from the sea's unwelcome touch. it was then he spotted a she-wolf savoring the waves -- he froze, sopping and surprised -- but that did not stop the grin that fluttered across his muzzle.
